2001 Highlander

2001 RAV4
"Highlander will appeal to buyers who desire a versatile SUV designed with exceptional ride and handling, while offering legendary Toyota quality and reliability," said SET Marketing Vice President Ed Sheehy. "This vehicle is a category-buster for a volume manufacturer like Toyota. We are extremely excited about its arrival."
Highlander, with an MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) as low as $23,515, will ride on a uni-body-based platform that is engineered for comfort and convenience in a wide range of driving environments. Its overall length, width and wheelbase dimensions will be larger than the Toyota 4Runner. It also will have a slight edge in interior leg and head room.
Highlander will be available in both two- and full-time four-wheel drive, powered by either a four-cylinder or 220-horsepower V6 engine, matched to a four-speed automatic transmission. Both engines will carry low emission vehicle (LEV) certification. The V6 4x4 configuration is expected to be the predominant seller. Highlander will be offered in a single, well-equipped grade level. Options will include an upscale Limited Package.
The introduction of the Highlander completes Toyota's comprehensive SUV lineup, which includes the 2001 Sequoia, newly redesigned RAV4, Land Cruiser, and the 4Runner.
