Renault Selects Collins & Aikman
TROY, Mich.--Collins & Aikman Corp. has entered into a multi-year agreement to supply floor and acoustic systems, engine acoustic products and interior components for the 2001 Renault Trafic Van, Trafic Combi and Trafic Bus vehicles.
The components supplied include: the dash insulator, air bag component insulation, battery cover, clutch cover insulation, front floor carpet and polyurethane flooring, middle and rear floor carpet and EVA-based laminated floormats (bus and combi only), and medium density fiberboard mat (van platform).
The acoustic systems will be produced at Collins & Aikmans St. Neots, U.K., facility, while the floor systems will be manufactured at Collins & Aikmans Newcastle-under-Lyme, U.K., facility. Final assembly for the vehicles will be at GMs Luton, England, facility beginning in March.
