Visteon Buys LTD Parts

DEARBORN, Mich.--Visteon Corp. continues to expand its aftermarket offerings with the acquisition of LTD Parts Inc., of Sparta, Tenn. LTD Parts is a 17-year-old remanufacturer of starters and alternators. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The purchase of LTD provides Visteon with increased capacity to supply remanufactured starters and alternators to the independent aftermarket. It also will assist the company in continuing to support its largest customer, Ford Motor Co.

“LTD is a very well-respected company in the aftermarket and has a tradition of supplying high-quality remanufactured components,” said David F. Peace, vice president of Visteon’s global aftermarket operations. “We look forward to leveraging the synergies and expertise they provide in order to help our customers become more successful.”

LTD’s Sparta facility produces about 400,000 units of starters and alternators annually, representing some 2,500 part numbers.

“We’re excited about the resources and strengths we can now offer,” said Terry Howard, president of LTD, who will continue to supervise the operations at the Sparta facility. “The commitment that Visteon has to grow its aftermarket business can only be seen as a positive among the employees here as well as for our established customer base.
