Texas Tea Bags Deal

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Texas Tea Inc., which provides mobile onsite automobile repairs in the Silicon Valley, has added Spieker Properties Inc. to its client base.

The first Spieker property to offer Texas Tea Service in the Bay Area is The Concourse, located at the San Jose International Airport. Spieker is considering implementing these services at other projects in 2001. (West Coast-based Spieker is one of the country’s largest publicly-traded real estate companies.)

Texas Tea offers automotive services to corporate campuses, giving employees a simple and cost effective way to have their car serviced.

Spieker can secure additional benefits for its tenants’ employees by providing specialty services, such as Texas Tea, making its leasing packages more desirable. Spieker’s tenants use Texas Tea’s website to set up an appointment for an oil change or hand car wash or a 30,000-mile tune up. Texas Tea provides Spieker’s tenants a convenient way to track and store vehicle service history online.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the convenience of an onsite automotive service,” said Lucy Moreno, project director for Spieker’s office portfolio in Silicon Valley. “In today’s fast paced world, we all are looking for ways to increase our productivity. This kind of service can be done without disrupting the workday--it makes great sense and should be well received by our customers.”

Other Texas Tea clients include: 3Com, Compaq, Microsoft, and Applied Materials. Texas Tea is funded by Sierra Angels, BH Equity, and Springboard Angels. Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Texas Tea is currently in its third year of operation.
