Contest For One-Millionth Monroe Shock

LAKE FOREST, Ill.--After rolling off the assembly line in Paragould, Ark., Tenneco Automotive’s one-millionth Monroe Reflex shock and strut absorber has traveled North America in search of its installation destination. Now, it resides in the Tonawanda, N.Y. area, waiting to enhance the performance and safety of one lucky customer’s vehicle.

This lucky customer will not only win free Monroe Reflex shocks and installation, but will also receive an all expenses-paid trip to Phoenix for four days of instruction at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

Once the one-millionth Monroe Reflex shock/strut unit is installed, a special ceremony will be held at the Tonawanda area installer’s place of business to announce the name of the winner. At that time, Tenneco will award the winning consumer with a free Monroe Reflex shock absorber unit, a free Monroe Reflex shock installation, and the trip.

Tenneco will also reward the installer of the one-millionth Monroe Reflex unit by sending him or her to the Bondurant School as an all expense-paid trip.

The one-millionth Monroe Reflex was built Sept. 14 and distributed to the Tonawanda based Middle Atlantic Warehouse Distributor Inc. (MAWDI) on Oct. 5. MAWDI, the largest independent auto parts distributor in the country, will distribute the one-millionth Monroe Reflex to a local auto parts store where it will be installed on the winning consumer’s vehicle.

“Consumers are becoming more aware of the safety and comfort advanced shocks and struts provide on today’s busy roads,” says Rick Stempien, marketing manager of the North American market for Tenneco. “With all the research we put in every product to create a new level of vehicle safety and comfort for our consumers, selling our one-millionth Monroe Reflex is truly a great accomplishment. We would’ve never done this without our loyal customers, and the thousands of individuals who played a role in creating, distributing and installing our products.”

Tenneco has 24,000 employees worldwide. Among its products are Sensa-Trac and Reflex shocks and struts, Rancho shock absorbers, Walker Quiet-Flow mufflers and Dynomax performance exhaust products and Monroe Clevite vibration control components.
