ALLDATA Plans Improvements

TORRANCE, Calif.--ALLDATA, which markets computer-based auto repair information for more than 30,000 professional auto shop customers, will work with Manhattan Projects to develop advanced software improvements.

Manhattan Projects products include Serviceman, a wireless handheld device that generates “smart” repair orders, and RepairTalk 2.5 with RepairWeb, a bilingual interactive voice-response server with an Internet module that informs customers about the status of their repair orders via a simple telephone menu or the Internet.

ALLDATA’s flagship product, the ALLDATA database, includes computer-based diagnostic and repair articles, factory technical service bulletins and illustrations including original equipment wiring diagrams.

“Manhattan Projects is delighted to be allied with ALLDATA by cooperating in the development of cutting-edge software for automotive service providers,” said Mike Sage, president of Manhattan Projects. “As a software developer with a long relationship with the automotive service industry, we understand the needs of ALLDATA and its customers.”

“We are pleased to be working with Manhattan Projects, a leader in business management software development for the auto industry,” said Walt Samuelson, an ALLDATA executive. “Our alliance with Manhattan Projects continues our focus on providing our customers with products and services that add value to their use of ALLDATA information within their business.”

In 1988, ALLDATA delivered its first product, and in 1996 it was purchased by AutoZone.
