Trim Branches From Dana Division
CANBY, Ore.--Commercial Vehicle Systems, which was sold by Dana Corp. in April, has renamed itself Trim Systems--Vision and Safety Group. The new firm hopes to clean-up with its just-released heated windshield washing system.
The operation has also been known as Moto Mirror, Prutsman Mirrors, Sprague Devices, Sprague Controls and Aristo-Aire. These important trade names and trademarks are all now part of the Trim Systems family of heavy duty truck product lines, the company said in a statement. Our three facilities in Michigan City, Ind.; Canton, N.C.; and Canby, Ore. remain committed to providing innovative quality products and excellent customer service to our customers,
The newly renamed firm has just intorduced Clearview--a heated windshield cleaning and de-icing system. It has been engineered to work in conjunction with an existing vehicle washer fluid system as it increases the temperature of commercially available washer fluid to assist in removal of ice, snow, bugs, dirt, and road film from the windshield.
Driver activated, the system warms washer fluid to a calibrated temperature, then activates the vehicle washer pump and sprays warm washer fluid onto the windshield. During the warming/pumping cycle a spray of warm washer fluid can be anticipated every 10 to 40 seconds unless the vehicle operator deactivates the unit. It does not interfere with the drivers ability to activate the washer or wiper system while fluid is warming, according to the company.
Clearview also assists in thawing frozen washer fluid lines and nozzles; it frees frozen wiper blades, extends wiper blade life and uses less washer fluid, according to the company. The system is sealed against environmental insults, can withstand sub-zero conditions and is engineered to meet industry wide operational specifications.
