Turtle Wax WH Going High-Tech

CHICAGO----Turtle Wax Inc. is going high-tech as it outsources its warehouse operations. GATX Logistics Inc. will incorporate radio frequency technology for product-tracking as it manages the company’s finished goods distribution center in Bedford Park, Ill.

GATX assumed responsibility for the 200,000 square-foot facility in September. It previously had been operated in-house by Turtle Wax.

GATX is using its proprietary logistics management software, Total Logistics Solution to provide for the efficient management of the facility. Radio frequency technology will be employed in the operation beginning later this month to better facilitate the flow of information regarding inventory and product availability.

“We are pleased to be Turtle Wax’s partner in supply chain logistics services,” said Joseph A. Nicosia, president and chief executive officer at GATX. “Our track record for serving other clients in the Chicagoland market was instrumental in Turtle Wax selecting our company.”
