Motor Trend Airing 2 Radio Shows

LAS VEGAS--Motor Trend magazine is launching two nationally syndicated weekend radio programs.

The two 2-hour weekend programs, Motor Trend Radio Magazine and Motor Trend Weekend, syndicated by Talk Radio Network, will debut in more than 100 markets. (Alan Taylor, the newly named host, is conducting on-site interviews at the SEMA show here for airing later in the month.)

Airing on weekends, Motor Trend Radio Magazine on Saturday, and Motor Trend Weekend on Sunday, the shows will be in the 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. time slot on both the East and West Coasts.

Motor Trend Radio magazine will feature interviews with Motor Trend’s editors, mechanics’ advice, tips on buying and selling cars (from the showroom or the Internet), on-location broadcasts at the major international auto shows, listener call-in, informative road test reviews, interviews with industry leaders and celebrity drivers along with other material.

Motor Trend Weekend will be live from remote locations and automotive events, and reflect the leisure pursuits associated with automobiles.

Both shows are presented by Meguiar’s, a surface care manufacturer celebrating its 100th anniversary. “We are excited to be involved with one of the world’s most trusted and widely read automotive publications and to bring its pages to the radio airwaves,” said Barry Meguiar, Meguiar’s president and chief executive officer.

“We also look forward to bringing these programs to the world’s leading automotive events so listeners across the country can now experience these events.” Meguiar said.

“As radio host, Alan Taylor complements the Motor Trend team with several years as host of radio’s ‘Auto Talk’ and ‘Cruisin’ America,’” said Motor Trend’s Paul Sisia. “As an auto enthusiast, Alan brings years of on-location broadcast experience and will communicate the true passion of America’s love affair with the automobile to millions of listeners across the country.”

Motor Trend, founded in 1949, has a circulation of 1.26 million with a readership of 6.6 million. The Motor Trend is comprised of Motor Trend en espanol, Motor Trend Television (a monthly nationwide program on Speedvision), Motor Trend online (www.motortrend.com), the 18 Motor Trend international auto shows and the Motor Trend (Car, Truck and Sport/Utility) of the Year awards program.
