TransCom To Supply FedEx Fleet

HOUSTON--Transportation Components Inc., known as TransCom USA, will be a primary supplier of repair, replacement and service products for Federal Express Corp.’s fleet of 35,000 vehicles nationwide. The agreement includes actual vehicle parts well as consumable items used in the repair process.

TransCom will supply FedEx from three specialty distribution centers in Memphis, Tenn., Newark, N.J. and Sparks, Nev. The companies have worked to implement a full e-commerce solution that will reduce transactions costs for both companies. TransCom will be supplying “the highest quality original equipment products from the nation’s premier manufacturers of vehicle components,” it reports.

TransCom is a national distributor of replacement parts and supplies for commercial trucks, trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The company also provides value-added services, including remanufacturing, vehicle repair and machine shop services. With 96 locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, TransCom’s customer base includes common carriers, private and rental fleets, independent repair shops, specialty OEMs and other end users.
