Ford Stockholders Sue Over SUVs
NEW YORK--A class action lawsuit on behalf of Ford Motor Co. stockholders has been filed against the automaker in U.S. District Court over the alleged problems with Explorer sport utility vehicles affixed with Firestone tires.
The suit says shareholders should have been told of the impending difficulties faced by Ford over the SUVs performance and safety risks.
The company misled the investing public regarding the safety of the Ford Explorer in combination with Firestone tires, and failed to disclose the significant number of deaths, accidents, complaints and claims resulting therefrom, both in the United States and in foreign countries, says the suit, which was filed by the law firm of Stull, Stull & Brody.
