TONAWANDA, New York and AUGSBURG, Germany--Equipment that promises fast-and-soft car washes is going to be sold in the U.S. as Germanys WashTec AG plans to open-up in this country with its quickest car wash plant.
The Softwash Highspeed is equipped with the newly developed washing material StarFoam. Not only does StarFoam clean vehicles especially thoroughly, it is also very gentle and does not cause friction marks, not even on sensitive dark vehicle paint-work, according to the company. WashTec Inc. of Tonawanda, N.Y., has quickly managed to bring aboard 27 authorized dealers for sales and services. By the end of 2000 a comprehensive sales and service network as well as a technical support center in Buffalo are to be established. The U.S. subsidiary is headed by a seasoned executive, who has acquired a great deal of branch knowledge.
Wolfgang Decker, WashTecs chief executive officer, noted that WashTec products had a very positive response during the ICA-Show in Las Vegas, because of that we are optimistic to achieve a brisk turnover even in our first year in the U.S. Over the medium term, we are striving for a leading position on the US market.
It will use the slogan Car-wash Made in Germany. According to Decker, the machines, which are developed in Germany, distinguish themselves by high availability and a long service live with a minimum of maintenance, thus they offer ideal features for a profitable washing operation.
Along with the Softwash Highspeed, WashTec offers four more different types of the Softwash product family. The offer is supplemented by a stand-alone dryer and two car washes for utility vehicles.
