Pilot Program Lifting Recyclers
IRVINE, Calif.--Planet Salvage Inc., an e-commerce marketplace for auto salvage buyers and sellers, has begun a pilot program aimed at effectively driving parts ordering as part of the collision repair process.
Via the www.processclaims.com Internet site, an estimate is processed and then seamlessly interfaced to www.planetsalvage.com for locating recycled parts and better facilitating the procurement process.
The benefit to collision repairers is the creation of seamless, electronic ordering of used parts in a one-stop fashion as part of the estimate transaction, according to the companies.
We are providing a working solution that allows all parties to efficiently locate and utilize cost-effective recycled parts, said David Ferrara, ProcessClaims.coms vice president of business development and investor relations. And ProcessClaims provides an open portal to connect and translate live data not only for used parts, but for all industry trading partners including those involved in rental cars, total loss valuations, OEM parts and more, he added.
ProcessClaims.com was selected by Planet Salvage for pilot due to several factors, including the highly efficient technology theyve developed, said Scott Petersen, Planet Salvage president and CEO. In addition, the two companies similar missions to provide the automotive parts industry with open environments in which to connect and conduct business, creates a natural fit for partnership.
