Superior Wheels Big Deals

VAN NUYS, Calif.--Superior Industries International Inc. has been awarded new-and-replacement aluminum wheel contracts worth more than $60 million a year.

The contracts include new aluminum wheels for the 2001 Pontiac Aztec and a new Buick model for General Motors, as well as the 2001 Dodge Intrepid for DaimlerChrysler. In addition, Superior was awarded replacement programs for a number of popular vehicle nameplates.

“Superior Industries continues to expand its relationships with the world’s leading automotive manufacturers,” a company spokesman said. “Including the new programs for Toyota announced just a few weeks ago, so far this summer Superior has won new business valued at approximately $90 million annually. By consistently achieving our customers’ design, build quality, delivery and service requirements, we are continuing to increase our share of the growing global market for aluminum road wheels,” he said.

Superior supplies aluminum wheels and other aluminum automotive components to Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Rover, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Isuzu.
