Report: Ono Out At Firestone

TOKYO--Japan’s Nihon Keizai Shimbun financial newspaper is reporting that Bridgestone Corp.--Firestone’s parent firm--will demote current CEO Masatoshi Ono next month.

The paper said Bridgestone has not yet decided whether to replace Ono with one of its own executives from Tokyo or one of five Americans now on Firestone’s board of directors.

Bridgestone has announced that “we may be able to disclose a reshuffle of management at Firestone next month.”
