Web site: http://www.keystonerv.com Founded in 1996, Keystone RV is a major manufacturer of travel trailers and fifth-wheel trailers. Keystone was acquired by Thor Industries, Inc., and currently operates as a fully owned subsidiary. Its a surprise to many that Thor Industries is the largest RV manufacturer in the U.S. But only a very few of those many RV models have the name Thor on their sides. Instead, Thor is the corporate owner of many well-known RV brands, including the venerable Airstream, the most recognized name in the industry. Thor Industries, Inc., was founded on August 29, 1980, when Wade F. B. Thompson and Peter B. Orthwein, who created the name "Thor" by combining the first two letters of each entrepreneur's name. Over the years, Thor Industries purchased the Canadian company, General Coach, created Thor America, acquired Dutchmen, Four Winds, Komfort and Skamper. Within the past five years, Thor acquired Keystone RV, Damon RV, CrossRoads RV and Goshen Coach. Thor is a public company, listed on the NY Stock Exchange as THO. With all its branches and subsidiaries, Thor employs more than 7,000 people, and is headquartered in Ohio. Its various divisions and manufacturing facilities are located throughout the U.S. and Canada. Keystone RVs headquarters are in Goshen, Indiana, and has 15 production facilities in that area, plus three more in Pendleton, Oregon. The company employs more than 3,000 people. Owners Club: None |
