Hino Names Mitsuo Kikuchi as New President

ORANGEBURG, NY., May 9, 2001 -- Hino Diesel Trucks (USA), which offers the
industry's fastest growing line of medium-duty trucks, has named Mitsuo
Kikuchi as its new president. Kikuchi replaces Eddie Ishizu, who retires
after a 36-year career in the Hino organization.

Prior to joining Hino Diesel Trucks (USA), Kikuchi was senior executive
officer of overseas operations for Hino Motors Ltd. He has been with Hino
since 1964 and has managed much of Hino's overseas expansion -- with
assignments in Greece, Belgium, Malaysia and Indonesia. He is the highest
ranking Hino official to ever manage the United States operation.

According to Kikuchi, his appointment shows the commitment of the parent
company to the U.S. market. "We expect to continue our momentum in this
market," Kikuchi said. "Last year our sales here grew by nearly 30 percent,
and we expect excellent growth again this year -- even in a down market.
Hino Motors is committed to the United States market -- it is a top priority
for our company. We plan to become a solid player in the market and support
our expanding dealer base with quality products and services."

Hino Diesel Trucks (USA) is a leading supplier of Class 4-7 cabover trucks
throughout the United States. Hino (USA), was the first Japanese truck and
bus manufacturer to enter the U.S. market and has been an active participant
in the North American market for 17 years. To learn more about Hino, visit
