Ford Group VP Rewey Retires; Executives Named to New Jobs

    DEARBORN, Mich., March 9 Robert L. Rewey, group vice
president, Global Consumer Services and North America, Ford Motor Company
, announced his retirement today after a 38-year career with the
company.  His retirement is effective March 23.
    "Bob has been an outstanding business leader for Ford Motor Company," said
Jacques Nasser, president and CEO.  "His innovative actions in areas such as
leasing, automotive brand management and people development mark him as a true
icon in our industry."
    As the leader of Ford's global brand marketing strategy, Rewey has been a
vital force in driving the company's transformation to a consumer-focused
company.  He also has been a strong champion of Ford's dealer relations, e-
commerce and motor racing activities.
    "I am especially grateful that Bob agreed to stay on a while longer than
he intended to help us progress our worldwide transformation to a consumer-
focused company," Nasser said.  "We will miss Bob for his energy, ideas and
passion for serving our customers."
    Rewey was appointed to his present position in January 2000.  He had been
group vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service for Ford Automotive
Operations.  He also served as group vice president, Marketing and Sales,
North American Automotive Operations, vice president and general manager of
Ford Division and vice president and general manager of Lincoln Mercury.
    Brian P. Kelley, 40, was named vice president, Global Consumer Services.
He will be responsible for Global Marketing, Automotive Consumer Services
Group, Dealer Development, Worldwide Direct Markets, Ford Racing Technology
and ConsumerConnect.  He will report to Nasser.
    Succeeding Kelley as president, ConsumerConnect, is Karen C. Francis, 38,
who was managing director and chief marketing officer of the Internet Capital
Group.  Prior to that, Francis held executive positions with General Motors
Corp., Procter & Gamble Co., and Bain & Company.  Francis was elected as a
Ford Motor Company vice president by the Board of Directors.  She will report
to Kelley, and her appointment is effective April 2.
    Effective immediately, Martin Inglis, vice president, Ford North America
Consumer Business Group, will report to Nasser.  He previously reported to
Rewey.
    Anne Stevens, 52, was elected by the Board of Directors to the new
position of vice president, North America Assembly Operations.  Her
appointment is effective April 2.  Stevens was executive director, Vehicle
Operations.
