Ford Appoints Anne Stevens VP, North America Assembly

    DEARBORN, Mich., March 9 Anne Stevens today was elected by
the Ford Motor Company Board of Directors to the new position of
vice president, North America Assembly Operations.
    Stevens was executive director, Vehicle Operations in North America, a
position she assumed in January 2000.
    Her new role is effective April 2.  She will oversee the operations of 21
automotive assembly plants in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
    "Anne is taking a lead role in transforming the culture of the
manufacturing organization toward a consumer focus," said Martin Inglis, vice
president, Ford North America Consumer Business Group.
    "Her continuing efforts to make our assembly operations lean and
efficient, which in turn make us more competitive, are important to our
success as a manufacturing operation and a company," said Shamel Rushwin, vice
president, Vehicle Operations.
    She serves on the board of Auto Alliance Inc. and on the advisory board
for a graduate program at Northwestern University.  In 2000, she received the
prestigious Shingo Leadership award and in 2001, an Outstanding Business
Leader award from Northwood University.
    Stevens joined Ford Motor Company in 1990 as a marketing specialist in the
Plastic Products Division.  In 1992, she was named manager, Quality Services
Department, at the Saline (Mich.) Plant in Ford's Plastic and Trim Products
Division.
    In 1995, Stevens became manufacturing manager for Ford Automotive
Components Division's (ACD) Plastic and Trim Products Operations.  Later in
the year, she was named plant manager at Ford ACD's Enfield (England) Plant,
Ford's first female plant manager in Europe.
    In 1997, Stevens was named assistant vehicle line director, Small Car
Vehicle Center, for Ford Automotive Operations in Dunton, England, with
responsibility for Fiesta, Ka and Puma vehicles.
    Prior to her post as executive director, Stevens was director of the
Manufacturing Business Office for Ford in North America.
    Before joining Ford, Stevens held engineering, manufacturing and marketing
positions at Exxon Chemical Co.
    Stevens, 52, holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical and Materials
Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, and did graduate work at
Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.
