Recalled: Dodge 2001 Neon

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today released a list of auto safety recalls announced in November and December 2000 and urged consumers to have the problems fixed promptly. DaimlerChrysler Corporation

Models: Dodge Neon Year: 2001

Number Involved: 1,504

Dates of Manufacture: June 1999 - October 2000

Noncompliance: Certain passenger vehicles equipped with the sport appearance package fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." These vehicles with 16-inch wheels and tires were equipped with the incorrect tire placard. The label specifies the wrong recommended tire size. This could cause the owner to select incorrect replacement tires.

Remedy: Owners will be provided with a new label or, if the owner wishes, their dealer can install the label for them. Owner notification began Dec. 14, 2000. Owners who do not receive the free label within a reasonable time should contact Daimler Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
