SAE 2001 World Congress to Hold `Sneak Preview'
WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 6 The Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE International) is giving a select audience of automotive
manufacturers and news media an early look at some of the hottest new
technology to hit the automotive market. This "invitation only" event will be
held on Sunday, March 4 from 2-6 p.m. in Michigan Hall, Cobo Center, Detroit,
Michigan.
More than 30 companies that form the Automotive Computer Technology
Showcase (ACT) will be on hand to show their latest and most advanced computer
hardware and software technology. Companies include such well-known industry
names as Microsoft Corporation, Covisint, FreeMarkets Inc., Infineon
Technologies and many others.
Telematics, expected to become an $8 billion business by 2004, is only one
segment of the multi-billion dollar automotive electronics industry that will
be on display in Michigan Hall. This is the first time that SAE has held a
pre-Congress event on this scale.
SAE and its Michigan Hall exhibitors will be inviting a select list of
customers for this pre-show viewing. Media will also be invited to meet with
exhibitors and attendees at this pre-show event.
