New Vehicle Data Program Donated to Northwood University
Program Gives Students Access to Real-World Automotive Data
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 4 Polk, the longest standing curator of automobile records
in the United States, announced today that it will donate its new vehicle
population profile (NVPP(R)) to Northwood University in Midland, Mich., for
use by students in the automotive marketing and automobile aftermarket management
programs.
NVPP(R) is a census of all currently registered passenger cars and light
duty trucks in the United States and Canada. United States registration data
is updated quarterly and Canadian registration data is updated annually.
Northwood professors will use the NVPP(R) program, which has a substantial
yearly usage value, as a teaching device while students will use the data in
reports and case studies. This will give students the opportunity to make
analyses based upon accurate, real-world automotive data.
"As a long-time partner with the automotive industry, we understand the
importance of providing our future OEMs, dealers and suppliers with the best
training possible," said Stephen Polk, chairman and CEO of Polk. "No other
company has the available data that we have.
For that reason, Polk is committed to using its state-of-the-art technologies
and services to benefit the students who will one day be running the industry
we have served for so long."
