NAA Honors Best Auto Dealers' Newspaper Advertising

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 3 The Newspaper Association of America
announced winners in the dealers' categories of the Excellence in Newspaper
Automotive Advertising competition at a press conference today at the 84th
annual National Automobile Dealers Association Convention and Exposition being
held in Las Vegas, Feb. 3-6, 2001.
This is the 25th anniversary of the competition, which is also known as
the DANDY. The dealers' categories were extremely competitive this year as no
one dealer or dealers' association dominated the competition. Winners in the
automotive manufacturers' categories, including this year's Best-of-Show
winner, were announced last month at the North American International Auto
Show in Detroit.
"The close relationship between the automotive industry and newspapers is
one that has deep roots in the communities we both serve," said NAA Senior
Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer John E. Kimball. "But what we like
so much about this competition is that it also demonstrates how the newspaper
can be used so effectively as a creative medium for automotive advertising."
All winning DANDY 2001 Awards are featured in NAA's DANDY Newspaper 2001,
which is distributed at the NADA exposition and to dealers, ad agencies and
newspapers around the country. Winners can also be viewed online at
http://www.naa.org/classified.
