With the Autobytel Netherlands Launch, Ready-to-Buy Consumers Are Now Being
Delivered to Auto Dealers in Seven Countries, Including Canada, the U.K.,
                         Sweden, Japan, and Australia

    IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 3 Autobytel.com , the
global leader in online automotive commerce, today announced the launch of
Autobytel Netherlands (http://www.autobytel.nl), bringing the total number of
countries with access to no-hassle car buying up to seven. The Autobytel
Netherlands investors are Pon Holdings, the leading vehicle importer in the
Netherlands; De Telegraaf, the number one publisher in the Netherlands; and
Achmea, the leading auto insurance company in the Netherlands. Product
partners for Autobytel Netherlands include Centraal Beheer and FBTO for auto
insurance, and Postbank which will be offering consumer financing on the site.
All three partners are leaders in their industries. Autobytel Europe, of
which Autobytel.com is a 77% shareholder, licensed Autobytel Netherlands.
"Today, nearly 55% of Internet traffic consists of non-US surfers-a number
that will only grow. Autobytel.com recognized early on that the global
automotive industry -- and consumers worldwide -- would embrace
Autobytel.com's online revolution in car-buying," said Mark Lorimer,
Autobytel.com's President and CEO and Autobytel Europe's Chairman. "Since
1996, the Autobytel model has spread across the globe, with the launch of
Autobytel licensed websites in Canada, the U.K., Sweden, Japan, and Australia.
We believe the strength of our Netherlands partners will continue the success
we've enjoyed with previous launches." Lorimer also indicated that
Autobytel.com is in active conversations with potential Asian and Latin
American partners.
"We are very excited to bring the Autobytel.com vision to Holland and look
forward to becoming the Dutch car owner's best friend," said Dries van der
Vossen, CEO of Autobytel Netherlands.
Autobytel Netherlands currently offers new car buying, financing and
insurance. Additional modules will soon be added, including MyGarage to help
Dutch car buyers with service and maintenance issues. Autobytel Netherlands
launched with 125 dealers, selling all the major brands and covering the
entire country.
According to e-Marketer, a leading provider of Internet statistics, the
Netherlands' healthy economy, solid telecommunications infrastructure and
extremely tech-savvy population make it one of the best-positioned countries
in Europe to succeed in the digital economy. Internet penetration is growing
at a solid pace and is expected to reach 39% by 2004.
