Experian and SRC Offering Vehicle Make/Model and Demographic
Data by Any U.S. Geography
Online Subscription Service Produces Reports and Maps Instantly
ORANGE, Calif., Feb. 1 Experian and SRC, LLC, will debut a
web-based vehicle information service this week at the National Automobile
Dealers Association convention in Las Vegas. The subscription service,
http://Auto.DemographicsNow.com, allows users to instantly determine vehicle
statistics by make and model as well as the current and projected five-year
demographic composition for any U.S. geography. Query results are immediately
delivered to the user's browser in the form of presentation-quality reports
and maps, dramatically reducing the time required for automotive dealers,
dealer associations and other industry constituencies to gather important
market opportunity data.
Subscribers can use the service to quickly ascertain how many vehicles of
a specific make, model and year are owned or leased in a five-mile radius
around a certain dealership; how many households in a given primary market
area have children, specific income levels and/or occupants of a given age;
and so on. Answers are drawn from census data supplied by Applied Geographic
Solutions (AGS), driven from the Experian INSOURCE(TM) Demographic Database,
and Experian's National Vehicle Database(SM) of over 11 billion records on
more than 315 million vehicles.
Searches can be conducted by car, light truck, domestic, foreign, make,
model and market classification, as well as geographies down to the primary
market area. Users also can type in multiple locations by street address,
city, state or ZIP code for easy comparison of the market areas of competitive
dealerships or multiple dealer properties, expansion opportunities in
different geographies, or target areas for direct marketing.
Reports are available in multiple formats, including summary profiles of a
single geography or radius, side-by-side comparisons of up to 16 geographies,
and ranking of multiple geographies by the performance of a specific variable.
Maps can illustrate the spatial distribution of vehicle ownership statistics,
demographic attributes and other factors to create a visual picture of the
data.
"The automotive industry relies on vehicle and demographic data to gauge
market penetration, calculate inventory needs, create marketing campaigns and
make other important business decisions, but until now this data often took
weeks or even months to compile," said Olivia Duane, Executive Vice President
of SRC. "Now, instead of wading through outdated hard-copy data sources or
waiting for a research department to fulfill requests, users can instantly
retrieve the information they need in a point-and-click environment and
customize their queries in any way they wish. This makes the
Auto.DemographicsNow.com service a powerful tool."
"Auto.DemographicsNow.com is one example of how we have leveraged the
power of Experian to enable the Automotive Industry in the analysis and
decision making processes by delivering the required data to the analysts and
decision makers in an environment that is both intuitive and easy to use,"
said Ken Kauppila, Vice President, Technology and Product Engineering, for
Experian Automotive Information Services. "This is a critical component for
building a successful Customer Relationship Management program."
The service can be accessed at http://Auto.DemographicsNow.com or through
a link at http://www.DemographicsNow.com, a similar subscription program designed for
general business use. An annual $2,495 subscription fee for the automotive
information service entitles the subscriber to complete reporting and mapping
capabilities for demographic data and summary Experian vehicle statistics.
Detailed make/model/year information can be licensed for specific vehicle
classifications for an additional fee. A reports-only subscription costs
$1,995 per year. Monthly subscriptions are also available.
Demonstrations at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention
will be conducted at Experian's booth, #3096, at the Las Vegas Convention
Center February 3-6.
