Kia Announces Price Increase On 2001 Models
IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 23 Kia Motors America announced a
moderate price increase on some of its 2001 models. The price increase is
effective on vehicles ordered by dealers after Jan. 10.
Kia's popular Sportage sport-utility vehicle will now have a
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $15,545 on the base model, a
$250 increase. The MSRP on the Sephia compact sedan will increase $250 as
well from $10,595 to $10,845. The new base prices of the Sportage and Sephia
represent a 2- and 3-percent increase, respectively.
The base Sportage 2-Door Convertible will receive a 2-percent increase of
$250 to $14,645. The base price on Kia's sporty Spectra will increase
5 percent from $10,795 to $11,295.
Base pricing for Kia's newest available models, the fast-selling Kia Rio
and Kia's just-introduced Optima mid-size sedan will remain unchanged. The
destination charge of all Kia vehicles will increase 10 percent from $450 to
$495.
All 2001 Kia vehicles are covered by its industry-leading Long Haul
Warranty program, which consist of three basic components: a 10-year or
100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, a five-year or 60,000-mile limited
basic warranty and a five-year or 100,000-mile anti-perforation warranty. A
five-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance plan also is provided.
