CART Fanfest display to make showing in metro Detorit

DETROIT (June 11, 2000) -- IMG Motorsports, organizers of the 19th Annual
Tenneco Automotive Grand Prix of Detroit, will be hosting the CART Fanfest
Presented by Southern Michigan Shell Retailers on June 12 - 18.  The
interactive display will be parked at the Oakland Mall, located at 412 West
14 Mile Road in Troy, Michigan, June 12-15.  Then, it moves to The Raceway
on Belle Isle for the race weekend, June 16-18.

"We are pleased to be able to help bring the CART Fanfest to the Detroit
area.  This experience gives fans the opportunity to see first-hand how
incredible and fascinating the sport of Champ Car racing is," said Denny
Young, Vice President of IMG Motorsports.

"The CART Fanfest is a great opportunity for fans to get one-on-one with
CART. There are several interesting and involving exhibits that will help
fans gain a better understanding of CART as well as the excitement and
spectacular racing that is the FedEx Championship Series," said Pat Leahy,
CART Senior Vice President of Marketing. 

On display as part of the CART Fanfest experience will be an authentic Champ
Car, a Mercedes Benz C-43 Safety Car, and a Honda CBR 900RR supercycle.
Visitors will also be able to:

*	See a Champ Car wing display, the key component of the car's down
        force traction
*	Play the "CART World Series" video game on a Sony PlayStation.
*	Watch racing highlights on several video monitors 
*	Listen to the radio transmissions of CART drivers and their crew
        chiefs
*	Shop at the CART Licensed Product retail area

To get to the Oakland Mall, take I-75 to the 14 Mile Road east exit.  The
CART Fanfest will be open during mall hours, 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The Tenneco Automotive Grand Prix of Detroit will be held June 16-18 at The
