NHRA FMDRS: Rain wins again; Racers to return to Hallsville in August

HALLSVILLE, Texas - Dragsters may be the fastest-accelerating vehicles on
the planet, but show them a drop of rain and they're motionless.
Rain, which soaked most of Central Texas Saturday, and put a crimp on this
weekend's activities at Hallsville Raceway, arrived with a vengeance Sunday
morning, giving NHRA officials little choice but to reschedule the already
delayed NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series event once again.
With qualifying in all categories completed, the racers will return to
Hallsville the weekend of Aug. 25-26. Gates will open 8:00 a.m. Friday,
Aug. 25 and the track will be open for time trial runs in all classes from
4:00 p.m. through 12 midnight.
Parking for the race teams will continue through the night. All classes,
except Federal-Mogul Dragster, Federal-Mogul Funny Car, and Competition,
will receive a final time-trial run beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug.
26. The first round of eliminations for the Dragsters and Funny Cars will
begin at 11:00 a.m.
