Tracks: Karting test night planned at Irwindale Speedway

28 April 2000

Announcing:
Irwindale Speedway's first
OPEN SHIFTER KART PRACTICE
THURSDAY EVENING MAY 4, 2000
Open to all 80, 125 and 250cc Sprint Shifter Karts
(All Safety /Tech Rules as per published by SKUSA)

This practice event will be held on a
specially laid out Infield road course at
Irwindale Speedway to give interested competitors
a chance to test the environment at the Speedway.

"Since we've announced that we are moving toward building
a world-class Karting facility here at Irwindale Speedway, we've
had numerous Karters from all over the local area and beyond
asking about giving this place a try," said the
Speedway's General Manager Bob DeFazio.

"The racetrack infield is not where we plan to build our proposed
permanent Karting Track, but it could be used as an interim site
and/or as the site of a major Shifter Kart (spectator) event some
time in the future. We want the top Shifter Kart drivers to tell us
what they think about it … That's why we're holding this practice."

PITS OPEN: 4:00 pm
PRACTICE: 5:00 - 9:00 pm

Entry Fee:
Kart $35.00
Pit Pass $10.00

PLEASE NOTE: This practice is a "non-spectator" event,
everyone entering Pits will need to have a Pit Pass.
