Tracks: Lebanon Valley Ready to Roar into the 21st Century

7 April 2000

WEST LEBANON, NY-April 15, 2000 will mark the 48th Grand season opener at
Lebanon Valley Speedway. Speedway owner Howard Commander and staff have been
working hard since the last race of the 20th century making improvements to
the West Lebanon speed plant.

A fresh coat of paint has been applied to much of the facility and is
continuing. Within the next few weeks the track crew will also be inspecting
the grandstands and making any repairs needed. The grandstands will also
receive a new coat of paint.

The novelty booths have been restocked with newly designed items such as
T-shirts, hats and drink bottles plus much, much more.

The "World Famous" Lebanon Valley food concessions are all set to go. All
your favorite food items, French fries, pizza, fried dough, hot dogs,
grinders, popcorn and ice cream will once again be available at the same
great prices.

The racers are all ready to get the new season underway also. The
racecars are all polished and the motors are ready to roar to life.
Race time is 6:15pm with the modified heats at 7:00pm. Harry Millard is
returning as the pit steward for 2000 and the handicapping has not changed
for the 2000 season.

All classes with the exception of the IMCA modifieds will be handicapped
the same way. Opening night, heats and features will be handicapped based on
the money won from the last three regular season point races of last season.
Week two will be handicapped based on money won from opening night and so on.
New drivers and rookies will start in the rear of heats and features for
their first two weeks only. IMCA modifieds will follow their regular
handicapping procedure.

L & M Motors and Mane Attraction will sponsor the opening night action on
April 15th. Adult general admission is still only $8.00 with reserved seating
$9.00. Kids under 12 are just a buck with kids under 6 free. Seating in the
glass enclosed, climate controlled V.I.P. tower is just $15.00. Come see the
greatest racing in the northeast at the greatest track in the country every
Saturday night.
