NHRA: Mission Raceway Park to host two NHRA Federal Mogul Series Events
21 March 2000
SILVERDALE, Wash. - Mission Raceway Park in Mission, British Columbia, will host two NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events in 2000, NHRA Division Six Director Chris Blair announced. The additional event for the popular Canadian dragstrip will be held June 23-25, replacing the Division Six event scheduled for Seattle International Raceway (SIR). The change was made following an agreement between the NHRA, Seattle International Raceway and Mission Raceway Park. SIR will remain an NHRA member track, hosting more than 70 NHRA sanctioned events. In addition, the facility will continue to host the Prolong Super Lubricants Northwest Nationals, one of 23 events in the $45 million NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series. "We are looking forward to hosting two Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events at Mission Raceway Park in 2000," said NHRA Division Six Director Chris Blair. "Mission has been one of our most popular tracks since it opened in 1992 and provides our racers with some of the best racing conditions in our sport." Mission Raceway Park, which began hosting NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events in 1994, also presents the Lordco Federal-Mogul B.C. Nationals, May 5-7. "By now hosting two Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series events as well as the Canadian National Open Championship, Mission Raceway Park is proving itself to be Canada's premier motorsports facility," said Ray Grossmith, president of the British Columbia Custom Car Club Association, the organization responsible for promoting events at Mission Raceway Park. -30-
