Some Useful Information About Irwindale Speedway For The Industry ...
Location:
Irwindale Speedway is located 15 miles East of downtown Los Angeles at Live Oak
Avenue and the 605 Freeway. LAX, Ontario, and Burbank airports are all within
a 30-mile radius with Orange County's John Wayne only a few miles further away.
Physical Layout:
The Speedway is a 1/2-mile oval track with a 1/3-mile oval "nesting" inside.
The infield is completely paved and virtually unobstructed. The in-place Musco
track lighting is brilliant and perfectly even throughout. The grandstand is
an all metal 6,500-seat unit with 12 luxury suite "Skyboxes" perched atop it.
Availability:
The facility is available for use virtually any day (or evening) of the year.
The track hosts 36 professional racing events every Saturday afternoon/evening
from the last Saturday in March through Thanksgiving Night. And ... tasty on-site
food and beverage service by well-known Twin Palms Catering is always available.

* Magazine shoots (Hot Rod, Sport Compact Car, Automobile Magazine, Motor Trend,
Sports Cars Illustrated, ABC7-Road & Track, Mustangs Illustrated).
* Racing coverage on both Speedvision and ESPN
* Manufacturer introductions/media drives (Honda-Acura, DaimlerChrysler).
* Shoots: (FoxTV's "Malcolm in the Middle", Disney Channel, Car & Driver TV).
* Commercials (Amgen, Ammco, Advantage Ford, Toyota, Mazda).
* Competition vehicle testing (various racing teams).
* And even ... Video game cartridges ("Test Drive 6")!
In addition, Irwindale Speedway has also been the site for:
* The (open-to-the-public) annual vehicle technical inspection and special car
show for over 160 vintage racing cars (Vintage Auto Racing Association / Vintage
Race Car Journal).
* A unique annual automotive "Literature Faire" attracting world-wide interest
and participation.
* The annual Volkswagen "WinterFest" car show and gathering.
* A gigantic radio station ("Mega100") fan drive-up/bumpersticker promotion attracting
over 2,000 vehicles and 5,000 happy fans.
As you can see, the opportunities for automotive uses are very wide at Irwindale
Speedway, professional users find us both accessible and very accommodating.
