Speedway Motorsports Sells Las Vegas Motor Speedway Industrial Park
    CONCORD, N.C., Jan. 13 -- Speedway Motorsports, Inc.
today announced the sale of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Industrial Park and 280 acres of undeveloped land for approximately
$53 million.
    The property was purchased by Las Vegas Industrial Park, LLC, an entity
owned by Bruton Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Speedway
Motorsports.
    SMI purchased the 1.4-million square-feet of industrial warehouse space
and the 280 acres in December 1998 pursuant to its acquisition of the Las
Vegas Motor Speedway.  Tenants occupy approximately 620,000 square-feet of the
industrial park located at the entrance to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  The
undeveloped land spans approximately 280 acres directly across I-15 from the
speedway.
    Speedway Motorsports is a leading marketer and promoter of motorsports
entertainment in the United States.  The Company owns and operates the
following premiere facilities:  Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor
Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway at Charlotte, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sears
Point Raceway, and Texas Motor Speedway.  The Company also provides event,
food, beverage and souvenir merchandising services through its Finish Line
Events subsidiary and manufactures and distributes smaller-scale, modified
racing cars and parts through its 600 Racing subsidiary.
