Colonel's International Announces Record Breaking Attendance at Colonel's Brainerd Raceway Aug. 19-22

    TECUMSEH, Mich.--Sept. 8, 1999--Colonel's International Inc. today announced their record breaking attendance at the Colonel's Truck Accessories Nationals, held at the improved Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway on Aug. 19-22.
    New top management at the Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway pulls off the largest and most successful event in the track's 18 year history. The improvements to the track facilities were well received by fans, including the newly installed 5,000 aluminum seat grandstand, 4,000 sq. ft. business office, drive up ticket windows, walk through pedestrian ticket window, fully lit 75 foot canopy, and new asphalt work throughout the complex.
    During the week drag racers from around the country competed for the $1.5 million purse. Five track records were set during the event including John Force's top fuel funny car record-setting run.
    This year's momentum is in full swing for the remaining 1999 events, building up to next year's super week of Aug. 13-20, 2000. The dates were just announced this past weekend by NHRA (National Hot Rod Association). The new super week will include camping and festivities prior to the race with a departure date of the 21st. The 2,000 super week attendees will be treated to many new features including expanded pit area, new RV camping sites, expanded parking for 20,000 cars and many other planned improvements.
