CART: Detroit Grand Prix Driver Dario Franchitti Honored

DETROIT, Aug. 5 -- Champion race car driver Dario Franchitti does everything with an eye to win. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Franchitti will race in the Detroit Grand Prix this weekend. The St. Andrew's Society of Detroit, a local benevolent group made up of Americans with Scottish heritage, presented Franchitti with a trophy recognizing his stellar achievements in the world of auto racing. The plaque on the trophy reads: "The St. Andrew's Society of Detroit, on the occasion of its sesquicentennial, is pleased to honor Dario Franchitti, 'A Great Scot,' who consistently upholds an honorable Scottish tradition of personal and professional excellence." Franchitti was honored today, August 5, at the Detroit Grand Prix.
