TRACKS: SCG Takes over Management of Cordele Motor Speedway (GA)

CORDELE, GA (JUL 15) Speedway Corporation of Georgia, under President
Daniel F. Evans, has reassumed mananement of Cordele Motor Speedway
effective immediately. Joe Wray has been leasing the 3/8 mile oval located
just outside Cordele Georgia, but has surrenderd his lease. The first race
under the GSC banner will take place on July 24th and will feature Late
Model Sportsman, Hobby Stock, Super Stock and Enduro.

"We are going to return to racing as it used to be."stated Evans. We are
going to have some different races, some new formats of racing and we are
going to make going to the races an exciting experience. We want the fans
and racers who come to the speedway to enjoy their time there and to be
able to race under the best possible conditions that we can provide. I can
assure you things are going to be different, starting right now."

For the present, there will be no rule changes in any class, but a complete
review of all rules will be accomplished in the next few weeks. The full
schedule of events for the speedway will be announced shortly, but the 24th
will serve as a practice day for the National Late Model Series which is
scheduled to be at Cordele for a two-day $5,000-to-win event on August 13
and 14.

On July 24th, Gates will open at 4:30 with hot laps starting at 7:00 and
racing at 8:00. Come out and experience the new attitde at one of the
South's fastest dirt tracks, Cordele Motor Speedway.
