Top Dirt Stars Invade Lebanon Valley August 5th for shot at $17,500 Payday
2 July 1999
Hello All, WEST LEBANON, NY- The most prestigious event of the 1999 Lebanon Valley racing season is set for August 5th. Budweiser and Lebanon Valley Speedway will proudly present Mr. Dirt Track, USA (a title race) on this night. The winner of this 99-lap feature for big block modifieds will walk away with a cool $17,500! You can expect some of the biggest names in DIRT motorsports to invade the high banks for the chance at such a huge payoff. This will also be a stop on the Advance Auto Parts Super Dirt Series Trail. The winner of this race will also get a guaranteed starting spot for the Eckerd 300 at Super Dirt Week. Some of the top names that are expected to be on hand include Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, Alan Johnson, Bob McCreadie, Tim Fuller, Bobby Varin and Tim McCreadie. Hearn has to be considered one of the early race favorites as he was a regular at Lebanon Valley and he has won this race on several occasions and can never be counted out in these extra distance events. Danny Johnson won the Mr. Dirt Track, USA event back in 1997; he has a very potent new team and will be a threat as always. The modified invaders will have their hands full with the Valley regulars. Kenny Tremont will be leading the Valley riders in his quest for domination in 1999. Tremont is having a banner year at Lebanon Valley as he has an 81% win average so far this season. Tim Dwyer has made Lebanon Valley his new home for the 1999 season and has been very successful. Currently he sits second in the point's chase and has the team behind him to bring home a big win. Second generation driver Donnie Corellis is also having a good year. A host of top five finishes also make him a contender. Other Valley regulars to keep you eye on include the Ricci brothers Rich and Mike, John Hewitt, Chris Moore, Todd Wilkinson and Eddie Marshall. In past years the Mr. DIRT Track USA event has been a regular points race for the Lebanon Valley drivers. With the invading drivers making up a substantial part of the field it makes the qualifying procedure difficult and some of our regular drivers don't make the race and lose valuable points. This year all drivers that take the green flag in the heat races will receive 30 Lebanon Valley appearance points. This will help keep our regular drivers in the thick of the point's race. The 1998 drivers point fund paid out over $80,000.00 and with the help of our loyal Lebanon Valley fans we hope to make 1999 even bigger. Also on tap August 5th will the SavOn Pro Stock Trail event. Come see some of the future stars of tomorrow run in the full fender racers. Some of the best action takes place in this division every week and they will certainly put on a good show for the huge Valley crowd. Who will win one of the richest dirt track races of the 1999 season? Come to Lebanon Valley on Thursday night August 5th and find out for yourself.
