Texas Motorplex Full Weekend of Action

Ennis, TX --- The Texas Motorplex will start the summer season with a busy
weekend of racing action that will feature the usual Friday and Saturday
drag racing events combined with the NIRA Import Showdown on Sunday, June 6.

Friday, June 4, will rev up with the AAA Texas Street Night. The gates will
open at 6 p.m. and racing will continue until 12 a.m.. This event is open to
anyone with $15 ($12 with student ID), a driver's license, car insurance,
and tech-able vehicle.

On Saturday, June 5,  the O'Reilly Drag Racing Series heats up the
all-concrete quarter mile. The gates will open at 12 p.m. and time trials
will begin at 3 p.m.. Eliminations will begin at approximately 6 p.m. in all
classes including Super Pro, Pro, No Electronics, Quick 16, and Junior
Dragster.  This weekend's race will also feature an increased No Electronics
purse of $500 to win.

The NIRA Import Showdown will conclude the weekend's events with a drag
race, car show, Sound-Off contest, and vendor area on June 6. The gates will
open at 8 a.m. and time trials will begin at 9 a.m.. Quick 8 eliminations
will fire off at 1 p.m. and class elimination will follow at 1:30 p.m.. The
NIRA Import Showdown will finish with Car Show Awards at 4 p.m. and winner's
circle at 6 p.m. Tickets to this event range from $15 for a spectator, to
$45 for racer entry, to $20 for the Car Show.
