NHRA: Jeg's trucks face off in round one at Pomona

POMONA, CA: Saturday was the final day for qualifying for all of the professional classes. A total of 28 Pro Stock Truck drivers battled over three qualifying sessions to be among sixteen qualifying position for raceday.

John began the third session sitting in the No. 8 spot. He improved during the third session by running a 7.524 at 178.64 mph. John slipped one position and ended up in the No. 9 spot.

"We made a good run during the third session," said John. "We just needed to make a better run. The conditions were there for us we just did not capitalize on the opportunity enough."

Mike rolled into the third session holding down the No.. 7 position. Mike also improved over his previous qualifying time. He ran a 7.523 at 179.09 mph and moved down to the No. 8 spot.

"We learned some things from the runs that Jeg and Troy made in their Pro Stock cars that should translate into a performance improvement for our trucks," explained Mike.

The final and fourth qualifying session was canceled due to rain. Mike and J ohn Coughlin will battle in the opening round of the season finale.
