Saturday night's 25-lap "4-Crown Nationals" feature is the latest to be annexed by Kasey Kahne of Enumclaw, Wash., who continued his drive to the 2000 MCI WorldCom National Midget Car Championship at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

Kahne posted Friday night's fast qualifying time, then passed Sarah McCune on the fifth lap of Saturday's main event and led the rest of the way in his Wynn's/Ford/ASE/Beast/Performance Racing Industry Special. Teammate Dave Darland finished second ahead of Tracy Hines, Jay Drake and Michael Lewis.

Kahne enjoys a healthy 241-point lead over Drake going into the October 22 "Sammy Sessions Memorial" at the Winchester (Ind.) Speedway. The last driver to win the National Championship by more than 200 points was Rich Vogler in 1988, with a 291-point cushion.

A.J. Ernesto won Friday night's six-lap "non-qualifiers race," while Friday heats went to Hines, Darland, Ryan Scott and Drake. Jeff Flesher won Saturday night's 12-lap semi.
