U.S. Grand Prix: IMS Safety Patrol Member in Serious but Stable Condition

INDIANAPOLIS-- Indianapolis Motor Speedway Safety Patrol member William Andis is in serious but stable condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, according to Dr. Henry Bock, Speedway medical director.
Andis, 58, from Indianapolis, was struck by an automobile Sept. 23 on 16th Street, outside Gate 2, while working at the Speedway during the SAP United States Grand Prix. He suffered a fractured pelvis, fractured neck and a concussion.
