USAC: Campbell extends Speedrome lead with fifth victory

Daryl Campbell's first Indianapolis Speedrome Regional Midget Car feature victory in nearly three months extended his lead in the series point standings going into the Wednesday night (August 30) event at the 1/5-mile paved Speedrome oval.

Campbell led the final 39 laps of Thursday night's (August 24) 50-lapper to beat Norm Young, David Fuhrman, Rick Treadway and Brad Kuhn. The win in the Jack's Pizza/AFCO Shocks VW was Campbell's fifth in this year's series and 15th in his Speedrome career.

Matt Estep and Norm Young won preliminary 15-lap heat races. Estep led the first 11 laps of the feature before yielding to Campbell.
