Brian Gerster of Indianapolis, Ind. led the final 11 laps of Saturday night's 30-lap USAC Regional Dirt-Track Midget Car feature at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. He passed J.D. Turner on lap 20 and led the rest of the way in his Parker Machinery Special.
Shane Cottle, who finished second to Gerster, leads the "Regional" standings but he is not among drivers slated to re-start the August 27 race at the Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. Twenty-eight laps remain in the 30-lap feature rained out at Kokomo July 9.
Trailing Gerster and Cottle at Putnamville were John Wolfe, Andy Pierce and Chris Coers. Pierce led the first 10 laps, then Turner led laps 11-19 before yielding to Gerster.
Coers, the fastest qualifier at Putnamville, trails Cottle by 23 points in the standings but he is also not among those re-starting the Kokomo feature. Michael Lang, also 23 points behind Cottle, is in the Kokomo field, re-starting in the 11th position.
