Rick Treadway of Indianapolis, Ind. recorded his third feature
victory of
the Indianapolis Speedrome Regional Midget Car Series Wednesday night,
leading the final 32 laps of the 50-lap race in his MCI
WorldCom/Sunoco/Miller Lite/McClure Oil/Sanders Sports Marketing Gaerte.
Treadway's win places him fourth in the tight battle for this year's Speedrome championship, which continues next Wednesday and Saturday nights at two different facilities. Wednesday night's program, topped by a 50-lap feature, is again at the Speedrome, while Saturday night's events, replacing the rained-out July 5 event at the Speedrome, will be held at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. A 40-lapper is on tap.
Trailing Treadway to the checkered flag Wednesday were Daryl Campbell, David Fuhrman, Eric Bridges and Ron Hamm. Roberts led the first six laps before Brad Kuhn led laps seven to 18. Kuhn spun on lap 19 and eventually finished seventh but he leads the series standings over Campbell, Fuhrman and Treadway going into this week's pair of races.
Andy Anderson and Eric Roberts won Wednesday night's preliminary heats.
