USAC: 'Regional' dirt midget car series debuts at Putnamville

The brand-new USAC "Regional" Dirt Track Midget Car Series debuts this Saturday night at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind.

A 30-lap feature event will conclude the night's racing on the 5/16-mile dirt oval, following complete preliminaries.

Michael Lang of Indianapolis, Ind. is among drivers expected to compete for this year's "Regional" dirt-track championship. He will be attempting to claim a third different USAC "Regional" title, having already claimed the 1998 16th Street Championship and five Indianapolis Speedrome championships!

Racing gets under way at 7:30 pm, following practice at 6. The Putnamville race is the first in a series which presently has five dates. Other races are scheduled at Kokomo, Ind. July 8, Lawrenceburg, Ind. July 15 and Putnamville September 1 and 2.
