John Coughlin ran a 7.559 at 178.24 mph and landed in the No. 7 spot after the first of four scheduled qualifying sessions.

"We were looking for more during our first run," said John. "We now have a baseline to tune from."

Mike Coughlin ran a 7.558 at 178.90 mph, which was No 2 in mph for the session. His run put him and his JEG'S Mail Order S-10 in the No. 6 spot with three sessions to improve his qualifying position.

"That run gave us some strong data and helped to get us pointed in the right direction," explained Mike. "Our goal is to get as much data as we can today."

John improved during the second qualifying session and landed in the No. 5 spot. He ran a 7.542 at 177.84 mph.

"Our program has really turned around and we are going to be strong tomorrow in the Duel," stated John. "Our guys have been working hard and it shows."

Mike also improved in the second session. He ran a 7.528 at 178.12 mph and marched up to the No. 3 position.

"We are going in the right direction and the guys are doing a great job reading the track," noted Mike.
