TONY KANAAN

"We have a very consistent car, if not the fastest car, right now. We pulled the car off the truck this morning and ran a 21.7 right off the bat, and were pretty much in the same neighborhood this afternoon. The trick will be to find that final little bit that will put us at the top. We didnt test here (two weeks ago), and everyone else did, so I was maybe a little nervous about how we were going to do. But, all things considered, we have to be pleased that were in the ballpark. Consistency will be a good thing for the race, though. Im very happy with the progress weve been making with the Mercedes engine. Were working hard, and theyre working hard, and we both know there is still a long way to go. But every race they come up with some new things that seem to make a difference. Here, power isnt an issue as much as a motor that is smooth as you go on and off the throttle. Were on our way, and tomorrows another day to move up the ladder."
