BLOOMINGTON, IN About 4:30 this afternoon, it looked like wie might dodge the weathermans bullet for a second time this season. The skies looked threatening; but no rain had fallen and their was a manageable probability of rain according to the weather prognosticator. However, shortly thereafter, a light shower began. It would shower a while, stop, and then start again. Mike Miles was on his four wheeler checking the track, looking at the pits, and then gazing into the Western sky. Word came that there was more rain coming from the West. It became obvious that little if any of the show could be run before the event was finally washed away. Mike saw no reason to put the fans and the racers through that so he declared the event the victim of rain.
We will look for better weather next week when the World of Outlaws Gumout Series comes calling along with the American 1200 Winged Mini-Sprints on June 2.
