INDY 500: Sonic Drive-In to sponsor Steve Knapp at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS- Sonic Drive-In, the largest chain of drive-in restaurants in the United States, will be the primary sponsor of the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entry driven by Steve Knapp in the 84th Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, team and Sonic officials announced today.
Sonic also will be an associate sponsor on the Team Purex Dreyer & Reinbold Racing entry of Indy Racing Northern Light Series points leader Robbie Buhl for the Indianapolis 500 and the Casino Magic 500 on June 10 at Texas Motor Speedway.
I am very excited to represent Sonic Drive-In at the Indy 500, especially since Im sure that Im one of their best customers, Knapp said.
Knapp, from Salem, Wis., will start 27th in the teams G Force/Infiniti/Firestone at Indianapolis, his first start of the season. He won the Indianapolis 500 Bank One Rookie of the Year Award in 1998 after finishing third in his Indy Racing debut.
Buhl will start ninth at Indianapolis in his Team Purex Dreyer & Reinbold Racing G Force/Oldsmobile/Firestone. He won the season-opening Delphi Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway in January.
