Tony Elliott of Kokomo, Ind. leads the Stoops Freightliner Sprint
Car
Series into Wednesday night and Sunday night races this week as the series
visits both paved and dirt ovals.
Anderson (Ind.) Speedway's 1/4-mile paved oval hosts Wednesday night's "Keebler/Cheez-it 50," while Sunday night's program is slated at the 1/2-mile high-banked dirt Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Practice at Anderson gets under way at 3:30 pm, with qualifying at 5:45 and racing at 7. The feature is a 50-lapper. Eldora's program begins with practice at 6:30 pm. Qualifying starts at 7 and the first race is at 8. A 30-lap feature concludes the Eldora action.
Elliott won last year's 50-lap Anderson event and holds an eight-point lead over Derek Davidson going into Wednesday night's events. Eric Gordon won the April 2 race at Anderson. Tracy Hines, currently seventh in the series standings, won last year's May race at Eldora, but Jay Drake and Dave Darland have won the two Eldora races contested this season.
